Game days: Most of our games are on Saturdays. Every available girls will play each Saturday. We play multiple games each game day, with each girl usually playing one game. Link: game day procedures and guidelines
On most Saturdays, we’ll field two teams for morning 6-aside games in the NASA United Quest Park U10 rec league, and two teams for afternoon 6-aside games in the NASA Metro North Park U10 rec league.
On some Saturdays, we’ll also have one or more games against a neighboring club’s U8 Academy program. (Most Atlanta area clubs schedule their U8 Academy groups primarily for in-house games, not games against other clubs.)
On Saturdays when we don’t play outside competition, we’ll have an intra-Academy game instead.
We also have 3 partial Sunday game days; they are listed in italic print. A portion of our girls will play in the Sunday games. (We're trying to get the Sunday, May 8 games rescheduled to avoid conflict with Mother's Day.)
Roster details: We post game day rosters each Monday night before the upcoming weekend games. You can click the link in the "Date" column below to see that date's rosters and schedules. We'll combine girls from both Metro North Park and United Quest Park on game days. Coaches will handle roster assignments; we aren't able to honor individual roster / schedule requests. Link: schedule requests
Intra-Academy games: In the early weeks, we'll roster younger and newer players for the intra-Academy game. As the season progresses, we'll rotate older girls through intra-Academy games.
DH players: We may have game days when we'll need some players to play twice, or what we call "DH" (double-header) duty. March 26 and April 23 are likely DH opportunities. Link: double-header play
Schedule conflicts: Please let us know as early as possible about any game day schedule conflicts. (E-mail is the preferred method.) We can work around most conflicts as long as we know about them by the weekend ahead of the game day.

Academy tryouts: Tryouts for the 2016-2017 NASA Academy programs will likely start Tuesday, May 31st, 2016. We'll post more details in April.
Summer Academy Camp (for all Academy players, from Junior Academy through U12): Our summer 2016 Girls Academy Camps will take place the week of July 18-21 (Monday through Thursday), with sessions running in the evening, 5:30 - 8:30 PM. Camps will be held at Metro North Park, JJ Biello Park and Tophat fields. (No word yet on which groups attend at which parks.) There will be Academy groups practicing out of United Quest Park in the fall, but there won't be any summer Girls Academy Camp sessions at UQP.
Academy tryouts: Tryouts for the 2015-2016 NASA Academy programs start Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Girls who are age 7 or younger as of July 31st, 2015 attend the Junior Academy tryouts. Girls who are age 8 as of July 31 attend tryouts for our U9/U10 Academy group. We encourage all current players to attend. It's fun, plus current players help set a good competitive environment to challenge other players who are trying out. Link: tryouts. If your daughter isn't able to attend, please contact the appropriate age group coach for instructions. Link: coaching contacts
NASA Development Academy Camp, June 8-11, 2015: The NASA Development Academy Camp returns for 2015! The camp takes place June 8-11 at Metro North Park; it's aimed at Academy / Select players who want to be big time players. The camp is run by NASA's Dave Smith, who created our Academy program back in 2001. (This camp is a separate event from our Academy Camp in July.)
Summer Academy Camp (for all Academy players, from Junior Academy through U12): We kick off the 2015-2016 NASA Academy soccer year with our summer Academy Camps:
July 13-17, 2015: Girls Academies @ United Quest Park
Camp sessions run 9:00 AM - 1:30 PM for the Junior Academy Girls, and 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM for the older Academy age groups. If your daughter has a schedule conflict with her home park's Academy camp, she's welcome to attend Academy Camp at the other park instead.
We start regular training sessions the week of August 10th. We're at United Quest Park (UQP) each Monday and Wednesday, and at Metro North Park (MNP) each Tuesday and Thursday. Schedule details are posted below. Players are welcome to attend sessions at their home park or at the other NASA park. Link: training session guidelines

Bad weather procedures: Late afternoon thunderstorms are fairly common in August. Rain itself isn't a problem, but waterlogged fields and lightning can cause problems. For info about how we deal with bad weather, please check our weather link.
Metro North Park footwear tip: We'll practice on the artificial turf field. Turf shoes or regular soccer cleats are suitable. But we recommend your daughter bring slides, sandals or flip flops to switch into after practice and wear on the ride home. This will give her a chance to shake out the rubber pellets that will collect in her shoes, socks and shin guards. Her feet will feel cooler, and your car will stay cleaner!
Game days: We'll play our first games on Saturday, September 12th. Most fall season game days will be in-house (NASA vs. NASA), some will be against neighboring clubs. Most of our games are on Saturdays. We have two partial Sunday game days; they are listed in italic print. We play multiple games each game day, with each girl usually playing one game. Winter break: We take a winter break during December and January. We may have an occasional informal (and optional) kick-around during the winter break. If so, we'll send a notice via e-mail and also post it on the home page of our Junior Academy web site. If we do schedule a kick-around, the event is totally optional and will typically just consist of scrimmage games.
Academy Winter Workouts: If your daughter would like structured training during the winter break, NASA offers the Academy Winter Workouts program in January. The workouts will be run by NASA's Girls Director of Coaching, Eric Ritter. NASA offers two 4-day sessions (Jan. 5-8 and Jan. 11-14) that focus on the technical areas of the game -- passing, receiving, finishing, and dribbling -- and how to apply them in game situations both attacking and defending. Players can sign up for either or both set of sessions. More details are available on the NASA web site. (Registration: Log into your NASA account through www.nasa-ga.org / Member Login. Once you're logged in, select View Available Programs. Select the appropriate session.)
Playing at home: Some girls prefer informal off-season play on their own schedule. Girls can arrange a small group of friends or play on their own. For small groups, the girls could get together once or twice a week to play, rotating between each girl's yard. The girls can decide what they will do, or the host girl can create the day's activity list. If you're looking for ideas, we've come up with a wide variety of "play at home" activities, most with video demos, covering games for pairs or small groups of players, plus lots of different solo fast footwork, dribbling, passing, receiving and juggling activities. Link: full catalog of videos
Outside the box: If your daughter wants to put her soccer ball away for a while but stay active, basketball, dance or gymnastics are good options. The body movement of these activities relate well to soccer (agility, balance and coordination are important in all), and the basic tactics in basketball are similar to those in soccer.
