Tryouts are complete, so it’s time to take care of the administrative side of the program before we get started with Academy Team Camp in July. This consists of registration, orientation, and uniform orders.

Registration

Registration opens Thursday, June 9th. NASA Tophat Registrar Jane Jarrett will e-mail all new and returning players that day with registration details. (If you have not yet sent Ward a reply to your daughter’s invitation e-mail, Jane’s registration e-mail may come a business day or two after you accept.)

Registration is mostly an on-line process. If you registered on-line for tryouts, skip down to the registration paperwork section. If you have questions about the registration process, please contact Jane.

Pre-requisite – register for tryouts:

You won’t be able to register your daughter for the Junior Academy program unless you have already registered her on-line for tryouts. This is independent of the actual on-field tryout process. In other words, if you didn’t register for tryouts, and your daughter checked in at the tryout table, the check-in didn’t automatically enter her into the NASA Tophat (NTH) registration system.

1. Returning NASA players (Academy or recreational) can register on-line using their existing NTH account. Players who are new to NTH will need to create a website account. Link: home screen for login or to create a new account
2. Once you’re logged in, select My Account, and then select available programs. Scroll down the list of available programs, select 2016/2017 Under 8 Junior Academy Tryouts and follow the prompts.

Registration paperwork:

The on-line registration system handles initial fees and the majority of player / family information. There are only two items you’ll need to submit by hand:

1. A notarized medical consent form (all players)
2. A copy of the player’s birth certificate (new players only)

We’ll collect these items at the orientation meetings or on the first day of Academy Team Camp. (These papers go to the team coach or manager, not to the NASA Tophat office.)

Orientation meetings

We’ll have an orientation meeting at each park the week of June 13th:

• Tuesday, June 14, 2016, 6:00 - 7:00 PM at the Metro North Park clubhouse meeting room. This room is on the right side of the breezeway.
• Wednesday, June 15, 2016, 6:00 - 7:00 PM at the United Quest Park clubhouse meeting room. Enter the front door and take an immediate right into the conference room.

We’ll review the Junior Academy schedule and have a Q&A session. Who should attend? Either or both parents, along with players. (We’ll include players in the early part of the meeting to deal with uniform number requests, but most of the meeting is intended for parents. We’ll check on reserving a field so the girls can scrimmage while the adults meet.)

Schedule conflict?

If you have a conflict with your home park’s schedule, you’re welcome to attend the meeting at the other park. If you have a schedule conflict with both sessions, please check the orientation meeting agenda on June 16th or later for any updates.

Uniforms

NASA Tophat Junior Academy, Academy and Select players will start a new uniform cycle for the fall 2016 season. Our supplier sent us information about the ordering process today. We’ll sort through the details and post an update to our uniforms page on Monday, June 13th, plus we’ll review the process during our orientation meetings.
