Registration

Update from May, 2022:  NASA Tophat has recently switched to a new registration system. Info below applies to the old system. We’ll post an update with details about the new 2022-2023 registration process shortly after tryouts are complete.

Registration for the 2021-2022 Junior Academy Girls soccer program opens in late May after tryouts are complete.

Registration is mostly an on-line process. If you registered for tryouts on-line through the NTH web site (also called Sports Connect), skip past the prerequisite section to the next section, Register for Junior Academy. If you didn’t register for tryouts (even if your daughter attended), you will need to register for tryouts through the NTH web site.

Prerequisite — register for tryouts:

NTH web siteThis step is required to keep the NTH registration system happy. The Junior Academy program is a “select” program, which means players have to tryout and be invited to participate. This is unlike the recreational program, which is open to all age-appropriate players without requiring a tryout or invitation.

If you didn’t register your daughter for tryouts (even if she attended), you’ll need to do so. You won’t be able to register her for the Junior Academy program itself unless you have registered her for tryouts. This is independent of the actual on-field tryout process.

  1. New to NASA Tophat?  If your daughter is new to NASA Tophat, you will need to create an NTH website account in order to register for tryouts. Link:  https://www.nasatophat.com/Default.aspx?tabid=179484
  2. Current NTH players (Junior Academy or recreational):  You can register on-line using your existing NTH account. Once you log in, you should see your daughter’s name. (If not, select Back To My Account, and then select available programs, or logout / login and try again.) Look for the 2021/22 Academy Tryouts program, then select View Divisions to the right. This will display the Junior Academy Girls option:  U8, 2014-2015. Choose Select. If you have multiple children in the system, you can follow the same process to register them for tryouts, or select Skip, and then Continue.
  3. The next screen is a brief questionnaire. Enter your answers (you aren’t required to submit a player picture), and then select Continue.
  4. You may see a screen about volunteer roles. You can select Skip, or enter your preference(s) and then select Continue.
  5. You may see a screen with spirit wear. You can select Skip, or enter your preference(s) and then select Continue.
  6. You’ll see the registration order summary page. Select Continue.
  7. You may be prompted about an NTH Capital Campaign donation. This is completely optional. Select Submit Order to complete the tryout registration process. You’ll see a confirmation page, and the system will follow-up with a confirmation e-mail.
  8. Now you’re ready to register for the Junior Academy program itself; see below.

Register for Junior Academy (deadline Friday, June 11):

NTH registrar Stevi Nuss will e-mail a registration notice to families of players we invited to join or return to the Junior Academy Girls program. She’ll send the message in late May after tryouts are complete. The message title is “NASA TopHat Player Update“, sent from NASA TopHat (postmaster@bluesombrero.com). Once you receive this message, you’re clear to register. Refer to the registration e-mail for more details. Here’s a quickie description:

  1. After tryouts each coach or team manager e-mails Stevi the roster for their team. She sends each player’s family an invitation generated from the NTH Tophat registration system.
  2. Login to your account at www.nasatophat.com and click on “accept” next to your daughter’s name.
  3. Complete the registration process, answering all questions and accepting all waivers. If you can’t access the medical consent waiver form, try this link:  https://bsbproduction.s3.amazonaws.com/portals/1878/docs/nth%20medical%20consent%20form.pdf.
  4. Payment page:  Click on “Payment in Full” or “Payment Plan”. If you select a payment plan, you will be given options on how many months of payments you want (4 or 7 or 10 if the team plays the spring season).
  5. Once payment has been made (either in full or the first payment in the payment plan) Stevi will add your daughter to the roster.
  6. No player may be added to a roster without a payment having been made. If you’re a Financial Aid applicant, accept the invitation and register for a payment plan, making the first payment. That will go towards the percentage that you owe after financial aid, presuming NTH Tophat can award you assistance.
  7. Think about how much fun you’ll have watching your daughter play and learn new skills!

Registration questions?

If you have questions about the registration process, please contact NTH registrar Stevi Nuss.

Registration paperwork:

The NTH on-line registration system handles initial fees and the majority of player / family information. There are two other items you’ll need to submit to your age group’s coach or team manager:

  • A notarized medical consent form (all players)
  • A copy of your daughter’s birth certificate (new Junior Academy players only)

Submitting forms:

The preferred method is to scan the forms and e-mail as PDF files to your coach. (Many smart phones have the ability to scan and e-mail documents.)
