We have a mixed schedule on Saturday, September 17: one away game (7v7 format), two home games (5v5 format) against the NTH Smyrna girls, and one intra-Academy game (5v5 format) at the Metro North Tops field.
Revisions: We posted team assignments Monday late morning. We received a schedule change soon afterwards and took down the original game day page. We posted a revised game day page Monday at 8 PM. If you checked your daughter’s schedule / team assignment earlier, please check again because there may have been changes since the first posting.
Game day notes:
- Two venues: We have games at two separate venues:
- Our 9:00 game is an away game at Tramore Park in southwest Cobb. Check the field link before Saturday. Tramore is divided into two sections, separated by a busy road. So you want to make sure you choose the proper entrance. (We’re on Tramore field #8B.) Parking can be a challenge. Hopefully the 8:30 AM warm-up time has us getting there before the crowds!
- All other games are at Metro North Park on the Tops field.
- No jewelry! We may have a real referee in some games. “No jewelry” is one of soccer’s rules. (It’s a rule, not a suggestion.) Link: jewelry rule
- Hot weather / hydration: We’re likely to have hot weather, so it’s time for a reminder about hydration. Tip: good hydration starts before Saturday morning!
- Uniform colors: Our supplier is at various stages of uniform delivery. Our most recent poll poll tells us that the most common items already delivered are gray practice shirts, navy blue shorts and navy blue socks. Girls should wear that combination. If they don’t have their gray practice shirt, a white or light gray shirt is a good substitute. If they don’t have navy blue shorts or socks, black shorts or socks are a good substitute. We’ll use colored practice vests to distinguish teams in our intra-Academy game.

Supportive parent tips:
- Be your daughter’s biggest fan.
- Be the other girls’ 2nd biggest fan (even girls on the opposing team).
- Please allow the girls to make their own decisions.
Three of our opponents are strangers to us. Stay supportive; if an opponent’s parent gets out of hand, just try to ignore their behavior and stay positive. (It’s youth sports; parents occasionally forget that their daughters — not themselves — are competing.)
