2019 Fall Finale group2019 Fall FinaleStaying dry on a rainy day, black rubber pellets, lots of goals, yummy cookie cake and frosting faces. This all added up to a fun morning at Wolf’s Indoor Soccer for our 2019 Fall Finale event!

Thanks to the girls for bringing their best effort! Thanks to the parents for re-arranging their schedules on short notice when it looked like rain was going to wash us out.

Thanks to coach Sydney (who is featured in a big champions’ photo next to the Wolf’s entrance), and special guest referees Ashlyn, Hailey and Victoria for keeping the games flowing. Thanks to Katie and Britney for organizing food and drink. And thanks to the Publix bakery artists for the tasty cookie cake!

Winter break:

We now start our winter break. If you’re looking for ideas to keep your daughter busy (whether soccer-related or through other activities), check our winter break page.

Fall Finale update Plan B (posted Friday @ 12:30 PM):

Saturday’s weather forecast calls for lots of rain. Fun for a single game, not so fun for a series of games. So we’re moving our event from Metro North Park to Wolf’s Indoor Soccer near The Walker School. We’ve also changed the schedule. Instead of 11 AM – 2 PM, we’ll start at 10:15 AM and end at 12:00 noon. (The indoor site has other customers before and after our time slot.)

  • Footwear rules:  Players should wear turf shoes, indoor soccer shoes or sneakers, but not soccer cleats.
  • Girls should arrive at 10:15 AM. We’ll review event rules (which we may adjust from rules posted below due to field size) and try to start games right at 10:30.
  • Wolf’s has plenty of bleacher seating, so parents won’t need to bring chairs.

We’ll finish the fall 2019 season with our Fall Finale “Dutch Masters” tournament at the Metro North Park small turf field Wolf’s Indoor Soccer on Saturday, November 23rd. The event will run 10:30 AM through 12 noon.

The Dutch Masters format is a series of mini games, with random team assignments — different rosters each game. Players earn points based on each game result:

  • 10 points for each player whose team won
  • 5 points for each player whose team tied
  • 2 points for each player whose team lost

We'll make rosters after warm-up.

Game rules:

  • Each game starts with a Texas Draw. (No kickoffs.)
  • 5v5 format with small goals and goalkeepers.
  • Restart after a goal:  player’s choice of pass or dribble.
  • Missed shots:  The defending team can call “whack it, track it” and restart play with a new ball. A player has to call “whack it, track it”, and a player (same player or a teammate) has to call “new ball” before restarting with a dead ball where the earlier ball went out of play. Restart:  player’s choice of pass or dribble.
  • Goal kicks:  Opposing team players drop back to their own half. If a player wants to do a quick restart before the other players have retreated (such as a “whack it, track it” dribble-in), she can do so.
  • Other restarts:  defending players retreat 5 yards from the ball.
  • Corner kicks:  player’s choice of pass or dribble.
  • Sideline restarts:  player’s choice of throw-in, pass or dribble.
