Rosters:

  • We divide our player pool into several teams each game day (coaches create the rosters).
  • Every available girl will play each game day. We usually play multiple games each game day, with each girl playing one game. For example, if we have games at 9:00, 10:30 and 12:00, roughly a third of the girls will play at 9:00, another third at 10:30, and another third at 12:00. Link: game day procedures and guidelines
  • We assign and post team rosters on our Junior Academy web site each Monday night prior to the weekend games. Games are usually scheduled 75-90 minutes apart. If our schedule lists game times as “9:00, 10:30, 12:00” you’ll know on Monday night whether your daughter is in a 9:00, 10:30 or 12:00 game. Link: sample game day page
  • We’ll combine girls from both Metro North Park and United Quest Park on game days.
  • Team rosters often change from week to week. Teams may be created based on playing level and / or age, or balanced / mixed so each NTH team is of the same level. Link: team assignments and levels of play
  • Coaches will handle roster assignments. We may not be able to honor individual roster / game time requests. Link: schedule requests

Game formats:

We will likely have a mix of 4v4, 5v5 and 7v7 games during the spring season. We’ll play with goalkeepers in the 5v5 and 7v7 games. The offside rule will apply in 7v7 games.

DH players:

We will likely have some game days when we’ll need some players to play twice, or what we call “DH” (double-header) duty. Link: double-header play

Limited Sunday play:

We normally play on Saturdays. Due to spring break interrupting the schedule, we often have 1-2 Sunday afternoon game day,s. If we play an end-of-season tournament, that will also include Sunday play.

Schedule conflicts:

Please let us know as early as possible about any game day schedule conflicts. (E-mail to Ward is the preferred method.) We can work around most conflicts as long as we know about them by the weekend ahead of the game day.

Tournaments:

We won’t play any 2-day pre-season tournaments.

Pending field availability and weather, we may have an informal intra-Academy 1-day tournament in late February.

We currently plan to play in a NTH-sponsored tournament the weekend of May 16-17, 2019. This will likely be a big tournament, hosting 100+ teams from local and other areas, ages U8 up through U19, with each team playing three or more games. This will be our final event of the spring season.

Depending on the number of U8 entrants, we may roster all of our girls, or only the girls with 2012 birth years. (We’ve found that few Junior Academy or pre-Academy programs at other clubs include 2013 girls.) Link: about tournaments

Birth Certificate / Medical Consent forms:

We still need to collect birth certificates and medical consent forms for some of our players. If you didn’t submit these during the summer or fall, please do so in February. Link: registration paperwork
