Pre-tryout camp and tryouts

By | May 19, 2019

What happens after the tournament?

The soccer clock rolls over, advancing from the 2018-2019 year to the 2019-2020 year. Our 2011 birth year players become age-eligible for the U9 Academy program, while our 2012 birth year players are eligible for another year in the Junior Academy program. There are two upcoming events related to the new soccer year.

Pre-tryout camp:  May 20-22:

May 22, 2018 Junior Academy Girls pre-tryout camp groupNTH offers a pre-tryout camp the week of May 20th. This isn’t mandatory, but it’s recommended for the girls born in 2011 who are aging up from Junior Academy to U9 and a new coach.

The camp is free for current NTH Junior Academy and Academy players. Link:  NTH Academy pre-tryout camp details

Tryouts:  May 28-30:

Tryouts for the 2019-2020 NTH Academy and Junior Academy programs start Tuesday, May 28th. Check our tryouts page for more information.

2018 Junior Academy Girls tryoutsVolunteers needed for tryout sign-in:

Coaches Kimmie (U9) and Ward (Junior Academy) are looking for 1-3 parent volunteers to staff the tryout sign-in tent each night. Roles include greeter, data master (confirming player info on pre-printed registration lists) and artist (marking tryout numbers on players’ arms).

If you’re available to help any of the nights, please e-mail the appropriate coach and include which night(s) you’re available: Kimmie O’Connor (U9 tryouts) or Ward (Junior Academy tryouts).

Why do the camp and tryouts happen so soon?

Good question! Our governing body requires teams / Academy groups to be declared and registered by early July for fall scheduling purposes. So the best chance to take care of tryouts and registration is right after the spring season, before players disperse for family vacations and summer camps.
