Halloween Soccer ShockerCOVID knocked us out in 2020. Bad weather threatened to knock us out in 2021, but we pivoted to a new day / new venue. Why? The girls love this event! (Coaches do too!)

Our 2021 Halloween Soccer Shocker party took place Wednesday, October 27th at Noonday Park field 7. We thank everyone who attended, with extra thanks to those who came in costume. Special thanks to parent volunteers for organizing pizza, water and treats, and also for helping us keep Noonday Park field 7 beautiful!

We have not yet processed or posted any of the videos. We hope to get that done over the weekend. (Update:  Videos are delayed; new estimated post date is November 3.) We’ll update this page, along with our Twitter site (https://twitter.com/nasajracadg) once we post videos.

About Soccer Shocker:

The Soccer Shocker event started in 2010. It’s a costume party for our NTH Marietta Academy Girls groups:  Junior Academy through U12s, including girls from Metro North and United Quest parks.

2019 Halloween Soccer Shocker: our girlsOur Soccer Shocker has become a hit thanks to the girls’ creativity and enthusiasm. We didn’t realize how popular the event had become, but it’s apparently big enough to attract famous guests ranging from Elvis to the Smurfs to the US Women’s gymnastics team.

On the scary side, we’ve had a cereal killer in attendance, but she was only a threat to Kellogg’s products. Even scarier than the cereal killer was the toilet in 2013. We only have grainy video evidence of this — it was apparently so scary that it freaked out our photographer!

Time:Setup starts at 4:30. The party itself runs 5:00 - 6:45 PM

Who is invited?All of our NTH Marietta Academy Girls groups:  Junior Academy through U12s. Parents and younger sisters are also invited.
Cost:We ask that each player attending contribute $5 as well as sign up to bring an item from this link: 2021 Soccer Shocker SignUp Genius. (The items are broken down by age group.)

Please send your $5 via Venmo to @sari-silver (label your payment with your daughter’s name, age group, and Soccer Shocker), or cash to your coach, by 10/27. A portion of the monetary contribution will go toward pizza, with the rest going to the TOPSoccer program. In 2019 our Soccer Shocker raised over $430 for TOPSoccer.
Player notes:1. We encourage the girls to wear their Halloween costumes!
2. Girls should bring their soccer ball and water.
3. If a player's costume isn't conducive to running, have her bring soccer clothes in her bag so she can change if she wants to scrimmage. Some years we just have one big party, some years we break into groups for scrimmages or other soccer activities. We "play it by ear" and see what the kids prefer.
Three rules:1. Have fun!
2. Clean up after yourself. Your mom may be there, but she'll be there as a guest, not as your maid.
3. No silly string!
