We start with a “dress rehearsal” game day on Saturday, August 14, 2021. We’re off the next two weekends as older kids’ tournaments take over the NTH parks. We’re also off Labor Day weekend.
We’ll start regular game days on Saturday, September 11th (the first Saturday after Labor Day). We continue with weekly games (minus an October 2-3 weekend bye) until we wrap up our fall season the weekend before Thanksgiving.
Game days have a mix of intra-Academy games, games against teams from other NTH locations, and games against teams from other Atlanta-area clubs.

Fall 2021 schedule revision history:
- August 16: initial schedule draft posted
- August 20: full schedule is posted; minor revisions are still possible

- September 10: added Sunday 7v7 prep sessions (Sept. 19, Oct. 10, Oct. 24)

Game day rosters:
- Every available girl will play each game day. We play multiple games each game day, with each girl usually playing one game. Link: game day procedures and guidelines
- We post game day rosters each Monday night before the upcoming weekend games. You can click the link in the schedule’s Date column to see that date’s rosters and schedules. Link: sample game day rosters and schedule page
- We’ll combine girls from both Metro North Park and United Quest Park on game days.
- Coaches will handle roster assignments. We may not be able to honor individual roster / game time requests. Link: schedule requests
Bad weather procedures:
- Rain itself isn’t a problem, but waterlogged fields, lightning or unsafe driving conditions could affect our schedule. For info about how we deal with bad weather, please check our weather link.
Schedule conflicts:
- Please let us know as early as possible about any game day schedule conflicts, including conflicts with travel related to local school systems’ fall breaks. (E-mail to Ward is the preferred method.) We can work around most conflicts as long as we know about them by the weekend ahead of the game day.
Game formats:
- Our main format will be 5v5 (4 field players, 1 goalkeeper), but we also have some 7v7 games. We’ll play with goalkeepers in 5v5 and 7v7 games. The offside rule will apply in 7v7 games.
7v7 prep sessions:
- Our regular weekday practices are well-suited to help the girls prepare for 5v5 play, which is our most common game format. But they aren’t as conducive to preparing for 7v7 play on larger fields, a format we’ll play a few times. So we’ll have three Sunday 7v7 practice / prep sessions during the fall: September 19, October 10 and October 24. These sessions will start with 7v7 walk-throughs, and build to 7v7 scrimmages against our NTH Marietta U9 sister group. We’ll only roster a portion of our player pool for each of the 7v7 prep sessions.
DH players:
- We may have game days when we’ll need some players to play twice, or what we call “DH” (double-header) duty. Link: double-header play
Limited Sunday play:
- We don’t have any regular Sunday game days this fall. But we have a few Sunday partial-roster 7v7 prep sessions.
- If rainouts become an issue, we may schedule Sunday make-up games.
Tournaments:
- We won’t play a pre-season tournament.
- We will play an in-house tournament (our Fall Finale) on Saturday, November 20th (the Saturday before Thanksgiving).
