We thank the girls who attended our informal “Happy New Year” scrimmages on Saturday, January 5th. Great job girls! Thanks also to coach Hailey and our frequent helpers Allison and Sarah.
This was our first time together as a group in 7 weeks. We expected a lot of enthusiasm, mixed with a lot of rust. The girls’ enthusiasm was indeed excellent! Rust? Hardly any! The girls played well, mixing individual skills with teamwork and game awareness. Fun to watch!
The only major rust was with our photographer, who brought two batteries for the camera, but both were drained. We got a few photos, but our choreographed group video vanished due to dead batteries.
Our cameraman forgot the 6 Ps: proper prior planning prevents poor performance! But he said he’s ready to learn from his mistake, and will fix this next time around!
Weather permitting, we’ll try to schedule another informal scrimmage over the Martin Luther King Holiday weekend. We’ll post an update January 17th.
